Choosing between an off-grid and a grid-tied solar system depends on your lifestyle, energy needs, and location. Both systems harness solar energy, but they operate very differently and offer unique advantages.
Grid-tied systems are the most common and cost-effective. They are connected to the public utility grid, allowing you to use solar energy when available and draw from the grid when needed. They often include net metering, which lets you earn credit for excess power your system sends back to the grid.
Off-grid systems, on the other hand, are completely independent and require batteries to store energy. These are ideal for remote locations where grid access is limited or unavailable. While they offer full energy independence, they typically involve a higher upfront investment due to the need for robust battery storage.
